Baltimore-Washington Parkway (Route 295) North
MD 201 (Kenilworth Avenue Freeway) extends 0.49 miles north from the D.C. line to U.S. 50. U.S. 50 comprises a major freeway corridor east to the Maryland capital city of Annapolis, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and the Maryland Eastern Shore en route to Ocean City with connections to Delaware beaches.

The exit for U.S. 50 (John Hanson Highway) east to Annapolis follows from MD 201 (Kenilworth Avenue Freeway) north. Once U.S. 50 crosses the Capital Beltway (I-95/495), it becomes part of hidden Interstate 595 to MD 70.

MD 201 partitions with ramps to Baltimore-Washington Parkway and Kenilworth Avenue north to Edmonston. U.S. 50 west continues west along a freeway to South Dakota Avenue and New York Avenue NE west to 7th Street NW in Washington. U.S. 1 Alternate joins U.S. 50 from Bladensburg Road westward. MD 201 travels 9.38 miles overall between the D.C. line and MD 212 at Beltsville.

With MD 201 departed via parallel Kenilworth Avenue, the National Park Service maintained portion of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway begins. Drivers pass over the Kenilworth Avenue southbound transition ramp to the parkway under the northbound lanes here. Trucks are prohibited on the parkway from U.S. 50 & MD 201 northward.

A parclo interchange follows the MD 202 (Landover Road) off-ramp with MD 450 (Annapolis Road). MD 450 represents the former alignment of U.S. 50 east from U.S. 1 Alternate (Bladensburg Road) to Annapolis. Locally the commercial arterial joins Bladensburg with Landover Hills and New Carrollton.

MD 410 constitutes a 13.92 mile route between MD 355 in Bethesda to U.S. 50 near Glenarden. The state route follows the East-West Highway through University Park, Hyattsville, and Riverdale Park to Veterans Parkway southeast to West Lanham Hills and its interchange with the John Hanson Highway.

After the MD 410/East-West Highway interchange, the next exit along northbound Baltimore-Washington Parkway (sometimes referred to as Route 295, even though this section of freeway is maintained by the National Park Service, does not have a numerical designation, and is not an official Maryland State Route) is the junction with the Capital Beltway, Interstate 95 and Interstate 495.

I-95/495 follow the inner loop of the Capital Beltway south toward Alexandria and Richmond, Virginia and the outer loop of the Capital Beltway northwest toward College Park, Silver Spring, and Baltimore. Unlike most signs on the Parkway, these signs are standard green and white, unlike most other exits, which feature brown and white signs with the National Park Service font.

MD 32 constitutes a limited access highway from Heritage Heights eastward to U.S. 29, Interstate 95, Baltimore-Washington Parkway, Fort George G. Meade, and the eastern terminal at Interstate 97 & MD 3.
