Highway 38
North Carolina Highway 38 extends 5.50 miles north from the South Carolina line in Richmond County to U.S. 74 Business (Hamlet Avenue) in the city of Hamlet. NC 38 forms a multi state route with South Carolina Highway 38 southeast to Bennettsville and U.S. 501 near Latta.
NC 38 parallels the planned corridor taking Interstate 73 south from I-74/U.S. 74 around Hamlet into the Palmetto State. I-73 in the Palmetto State is proposed to run southeast to Myrtle Beach.

NC 38 transitions from S.C. 38 north of Bennettsville in a rural area. The multi state route generally represents the Future I-73 corridor between U.S. 501 and Hamlet.
