North Carolina Highway 127

North Carolina Route 127 runs 24.55 miles north from NC 10 at Propst Crossroads in Catawba County to U.S. 64/NC 90 near Ellendale in Alexander County. With two lanes, NC 127 crosses the Jacob Fork of the Catawba River north to Meadow Brook Village, east of Baker Mountain. Expanding to a three lane boulevard at Mountain Grove Road (SR 1128), NC 127 turns east through the suburban community of Mountain View. The arterial widens to five lanes at Harris Farm Road (SR 1193) just west of the parclo interchange (Exit 42) with U.S. 321.

NC 127 enters the town of Brookford between U.S. 321 and Interstate 40, then proceeds north into the city of Hickory. Passing east of Downtown, NC 127 loops onto 2nd Street NE. The five lane boulevard leads north past Lenoir-Rhyne University to become a commercial arterial from Viewmont in Hickory along Center Street. Crossing Lake Hickory, NC 127 leaves Hickory through the community of Bethlehem.

Through Alexander County, NC 127 continues along a two lane highway to Little River. Turning northeast by Barrett Mountain, the state route concludes at U.S. 64/NC 90 west of the county seat at Taylorsville.
