U.S. 45

U.S. 45 commences a 1,297 mile long route to Ontonagon, Michigan from U.S. 98 (Spring Hill Avenue) in the Port City of Mobile. U.S. 45 follows St. Stephens Road northward from U.S. 98 (Spring Hill Avenue) in Mobile to Eight Mile in Prichard.
Primarily used by local traffic, St. Stephens Road navigates through residential areas and a commercialized intersection with Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue and Craft Highway to Interstate 65. Beyond the community of Kushla in Prichard, U.S. 45 transitions to a rural route.
U.S. 45 traverses rolling hills and pine forest for the bulk of the course through northern Mobile and Washington Counties. The exception is through the city of Citronelle, which offers the largest array of traveler services between Mobile and State Line, Mississippi.
