
U.S. 54 through New Mexico crosses the eastern third of the state from El Paso north to Alamogordo to Tucumcari. The highway measures 356.18 miles through the Land of Enchantment, traversing rural areas north from Fort Bliss to Carrizozo, Vaughn and Santa Rosa. A 54 mile overlap takes U.S. 54 east from Santa Rosa to Tucumcari, where it partitions with a Bypass branch around the city center. Northeast from there, U.S. 54 angles through Logan and Nara Visa toward Dalhart, Texas.
