SR 92 (Timpanogos Highway) was under construction in 2010 and 2011 between I-15/U.S. 89 and SR 74 (5300 West) in Highland. This effort resulted in the state route expanding to five lanes, and the Commuter Lane, a separate roadway built between Interstate 15 and Highland Boulevard, with grade separations at each signalized intersection. Construction of the Timpanogos Highway project was completed in Fall 2011. Work included reconstruction of the diamond interchange joining I-15/U.S. 89 with SR 92 in Levi. This exchange was later converted into a DDI during the I-15 Technology Corridor Project between May 2018 and late 2020.

SR 92 travels past the namesake Timpanogos Cave National Monument. This beautiful yet narrow mountain drive takes motorists into the American Fork Canyon and ascends the east side of Mount Timpanogos. West of I-15/U.S. 89, SR 92 concludes at the intersection of Ashton Boulevard and Clubhouse Drive adjacent to Thanksgiving Point. Conceived in 1996, this attraction features the Museum of Ancient Life, Ashton Gardens, a golf course and other family oriented attractions.
