Interstate 4 Florida - East

Several signs in eastern Hillsborough font featured Arial font at one time, including this mileage sign posted after Exit 14. 12/29/05

The original truck weigh stations were located just outside Plant City ahead of Exit 19 (Florida 566). There were demolished when the new facilities further west opened in November 2009. 05/27/05

A second overhead preceded the two-lane off-ramp for Florida 566 (Thonotosassa Road) along Interstate 4 east. It was removed. 05/29/05

Before construction to widen I-4 to six lanes was completed, the right-hand lane of Interstate 4 eastbound defaulted onto Memorial Boulevard (SR 564) east at Exit 28. 12/16/13

The overhead at Exit 41 for Polk Parkway on I-4 east included corners (a rarity in Florida) and a right-hand exit tab. The assembly was taken down by 2011 and later reinstalled with a new sign including an incorrect left-hand exit tab. 03/18/06

A placard displaying "Exit 25 MPH" was added below this sign for the substandard loop ramp at Exit 48 by January 2008. The whole assembly was then replaced in July 2014. 09/28/13

U.S. 27 converges with I-4 near the defunct Boardwalk and Baseball City theme park. Touted as a major tourist attraction in 1990, the company that ran it went out of business in the early 2000s. The site is now home to Posner Park, a big box retail center. 11/23/03
