That's Pittsburgh Rooneys, Dallas Joneses (now), and Philadelphia Sniders.

The first two feature the names of the owners because I consider them to be especially evil (even though the primary evildoers are now deceased (George "Store-Bought Player Roster" Steinbrenner and Bob "Midnight Ride" Irsay)).

The owner of the Texas Rangers (f/k/a Washington Senators II) at the time of the move, Bob Short, at least had the decency to announce in advance that he was moving to Arlington, Texas before the 1971 season ended.

Heh, it's amazing that the Marlins haven't figured a bit more regularly in thisvthread; they do quite a bit to make sure their own fanbase is occasionally disgusted with them. Yet, they've won two championships within their first 10 full seasons, but there's many things about the current owners' attitudes and behaviors that verge on despicable.

The Dodgers. That's all I have to say.

Here are my most hated teams list:

MLB- Boston Red Sox. 'Nuff said.
NFL- Green Bay Packers. 'Nuff said.
NHL- St. Louis Blues. The Chicago Cubs of hockey.
NBA- I don't really watch NBA (unless its the finals).

Hate is a very strong word, but then so is love. That's why I try to refrain from using the words "love" and "hate." I use "like" or "dislike" instead.

Happy Roadgeeking,

The only team I don't like is Scuderia Ferrari, for reasons described earlier in the thread ("Fernando is faster than you" being a prime example), plus they're (one of) the traditional rivals to McLaren, my favorite F1 team.

Team China and it's athlete mills.

Team Australia is normally good for some banterous rivalry, but currently they are so pitiful there's little point.*

Also the fictional Team EU which will make an outing when various EU bigwigs say "we won 50+ golds" (using current total). As well as being a nation that only a handful of people think exists, it's cheating to have up to 27 times the quota of athletes/teams in each competition - and that's not cancelled out by the ability for a Team EU to make a conglomerate team.

*not least as they are letting down the side of the fictional 'Team the-Queen-reigns-here' - Jamaica's 2 so far is putting in as many golds as Australia and Canada combined, and New Zealand is putting in a handsome 3 to give a total of 23.

Wonder if the Red Chinese might have imported some athletic training "talent" from the now-defunct East Germany?  Of course, the Chinese have an enormously larger population to start with.

Always happy when athletes from any of our English-speaking friendly nations win a medal.  Them and the Nordic nations.

I like UVA, it being a Virginia school and all that, but I am sick and tired of the Cavaliers games always pre-empting scheduled talk radio programs on WRVA 1140 in Richmond.  Leaves bad taste in my throat concerning UVA Cavaliers (a taste of spew in the back of my throat).

The Magic now after Dwight got himself traded.  Plus the took the City of Orlando for a lot when they built a brand new arena to replace another brand new arena.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

Just happened upon this thread, and I thought I'd bump it with March Madness and the baseball season being hot topics of discussion.  In honor of the devil's number 6, here is my top 6:

1. New York Yankees (of course)
2. Duke Men's Basketball
3. The Hollywood Fakers
4. The South Beach Heat
5. Carolina Whalercanes (although I respect a couple of members of the organization from the Hartford days)
6. University of Tennessee Lady Vols
Interstates I've clinched: 97, 290 (MA), 291 (CT), 291 (MA), 293, 295 (DE-NJ-PA), 295 (RI-MA), 384, 391, 395 (CT-MA), 395 (MD), 495 (DE), 610 (LA), 684, 691, 695 (MD), 695 (NY), 795 (MD)

I hate any team named FC Barcelona regardless of sport. They are everywhere! Still have to find a team sport where they are missing.
Supporter of the construction of several running gags, including I-366 with a speed limit of 85 mph (137 km/h) and the Hypotenuse.

Please note that I may mention "invalid" FM channels, i.e. ending in an even number or down to 87.5. These are valid in Europe.

here's some
  • Cricket!
  • Field Hockey - though their Ice and Roller Hockey teams might mean that it's too close for comfort.
  • American Football
  • Rugby Sevens - though they can easily knock up a team from their Rugby teams of either code (Union and League)
  • Ultimate Frisbee
  • Baseball/Softball
  • Water Polo
  • Volleyball
  • Dodgeball

... Quidditch. But that is already a lot of sports! Next time I should read again the volleyball league team list :banghead:. Barça has teams in two out of Big 4 sports.

Association Football, Futsal, Rubgy Union, Rugby League, Ice Hockey, Handball, Basketball, Roller Hockey, various Para-sports (wheelchair basketball, boccia...), track and field...

I did struggle to think of team sports that they didn't have a team for (Gaelic, Canadian and Aussie Rules Football being three more. Shinty, Hurling and Lacrosse being another three. Netball, Rounders and Benchball being a third additional three).

Big 4 being the American Big 4 (American Football, Ice Hockey, Baseball, Basketball), I take it. They have 3 of the British Big 4 (Association Football, Rugby Union, Rugby League, Cricket).

Takumi

They also have (or had, I don't know if it still exists) a Superleague Formula team, so that includes auto racing as well.
