Why would Jews, Muslims, or Christians have a problem with Max Rockatansky being required to eat pork?

That's the plot of Fury Road 2.

Anyway:
Pepperoni (on pizza) that curls up and crisps at the edges.
Bacon that shatters into pieces when you hit it with a fork.
Pulled pork bbq on toasted garlic bun.
Tonkatsu with a choice of dipping sauces.
Korean spicy pork.
Filipino sweet BBQ on skewers, don't know the name for it, we just call it "BBQ"
Longanisa (with garlic fried rice and egg, and whatever leftovers you have around)

Stuff I don't care about:
Ribs. Sure, as part of a meat plate, but I'd never order ribs as a main. There's usually better choices

Stuff I'll eat a little of, only to be polite:
Ham.

I just don't regularly eat pork. ... I find pork difficult to work with when I do cook it.

Same here!

My wife and I have found that a pork tenderloin is fairly easy to work with, but leftovers somehow still end up being tough.  We also have a barbecue pork shoulder in the deep freeze that we'll stick in the crock pot one of these days.  Honestly, the crock pot has become our go-to pot of choice for pork:  probably the most popular thing to do with it in our house is to make crock pot pulled pork for Chipotle-style burrito bowls.  Also, ground pork makes for pretty good Asian-inspired dishes.

The secret is to keep the pork moist.  It's best to baste it like turkey, but I get lazy and pour on plenty of water.  You ought to add the same seasoning to the water, so as not to water down the flavor of the meat.  And don't throw away the pork stock, as it will serve as seasoning for everything else.  We make pork-flavored ice cubes (I'm sometimes tempted to eat them).

Pork is an everything thing here in Central Carolina.  We live on the border between Eastern-style barbecue (pulled pork using vinegar sauce with hot red pepper seeds) and Lexington-style barbecue (chopped shoulder using spicy vinegar sauce with a hint of tomato), and here in the Triangle we often blend the two concepts (chopped shoulder using vinegar sauce with hot red pepper seeds).  Pig pickin' was only for the rich folks in West Virginia; whereas almost all of the locals here have a pig cooker here.  Hillsborough is home to the annual Hog Day festival; the winner of the barbecue contest gets stuck with providing all of sauce for next year's festival.

Wonder what President Polk would say about that one. ;)

Might as well refer to JFK too.

I just used it as a blanket statement. I feel like there's probably at least some Protestant denominations that do.

Either way, can't wait to nom on bacon again soon. Or maybe a pork tenderloin from Culver's. Those things are underrated.

:) Needs more... :sombrero: Not quite... :bigass: Perfect.

The vast majority of Christians observe Lent, but many Protestants don't really do the no-meat-Friday thing since they see it only as a creation of the Catholic church.

There must not be vegans on here. I haven't seen anyone viciously object to this thread yet. But anyways, pulled pork on a bun with some barbecue sauce, coleslaw, and cornbread is mouth-watering.

I actually don't recall anyone on here mentioning they were a vegetarian or vegan.  That's not to say there aren't any but, if there are, I guess they must not be very vocal about it.

I think Brian Troutman has mentioned being vegetarian for 10+ years. I'll let him add on if he finds this thread.

Why would Jews, Muslims, or Christians have a problem with Max Rockatansky being required to eat pork?

For a law to be constitutional, it couldn't apply to Max alone. It would have to be worded something like "persons legally domiciled in the state of California known to have between 13,000 and 14,000 posts on the AARoads forum". I don't know if that applies to anyone else, but it could.

I am in favor of this law because it would mean, because I can change anyone's post count at will, I get to decide who is and isn't required to eat pork.

I'd like to add that I don't care if the law violates my constitutional rights so long as I get to choose my pork product for breakfast everyday.

Well, since you'd ideally be the only one that would have standing to challenge it in court, then I do believe it's not a problem.

Feet (of all animals) are typically flat, or else they wouldn't work as feet. There's a decent possibility that the hooves are colored teal but not distinguished from the background.
