Even if I could've been one of those "rich kids playing polo," I recently started to think that the manufacturers of F1 cars and Indy-cars don't make them for drivers who stand taller than 5'8". I wouldn't be surprised if doing so violated some racing regulation rule book, because having a bigger car would give taller drivers an unfair advantage.

The tallest drivers this year are 6'1:

Okay, so those of us who aren't vertically challenged have a chance.

Pretty much always has been. It's rarely a sport in which someone else will bankroll an entire career unless a rich parent spends their way in. Apparently Estaban Ocon's family sold everything to further their child's career but many others hadn't done the same at this level.

Their careers and lives are entrusted with others from the time they're like 12-15 which is kind of ludicrous. Get past the part where it's basically 10 miniature space programs and the boarding school mentality of how the drivers are raised, and it all seems more normal (minus the potential death and destruction, collusion, politics, egotistical nonsense, wastefulness, expensive costs, and planetary harm).

But hey, I'm getting little healthier to support my busy day of being in the car industry and photographing road signs.

Speaking of Outlook, I have two calendars displayed in mine—a personal one and an office one that two colleagues and I use for shared deadlines and other events (e.g., it lists holidays, some administrative dates, and various deadlines). I used to be able to accept a meeting invitation and then copy it to the shared calendar. No more. Microsoft changed the software and you can no longer copy meetings. This is a pain because it means we have to recreate everything manually to insert it on the shared calendar.

I read an article about this recently. The amount of money and importance showered on children's go-kart racing in the hopes that one of them might grow up to become an F1 driver is absolutely insane.

You basically need start racing as a small child if you want to be a race car driver.  You also need to have parents who can fund the enterprise.

I ran a couple quarter midget races in middle school.  I recall the track operator telling me and my dad that I started too late if I was wanting make it anything more than a hobby.

Campbell's appears to have discontinued the 15 oz microwavable Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup.  It's a shame - it was tastier than the regular Chicken Noodle Soup, and presumably more nutritious, since it actually had vegetables.  Given the relative amounts on the grocery store shelves, it was the better selling variety too.  Why would they discontinue the better one?

Just get the chunky can and empty it into a bowl and microwave it.

My wife buys some sort of Campbell's Homestyle Chicken Noodle, but I think she gets a 10.5-ounce can and I know she heats it on the stove rather than in the microwave.

Maybe it's the 'tism, but I feel the basic chicken noodle and tomato are better than any of the specialized/upgraded varieties. I can't explain it.

Parking lot chocks.

You pull into a space and viola! You're car hits them. You can't really see them so you don't expect them but think you have another two feet to the curb to pull up.  Ugggh!

If you're in a car sometimes it is hard to judge if the front bumper might scrape on them.

This seems to be one of those things where after the first time, you should know. My previous car was low enough where I often stopped before the bumper. My current vehicle is a bit higher.

Is this also the excuse why people roll past the stop bar and have their front end blocking the pedestrian crosswalk, because they lost all comprehension of where to stop the moment the line is out of view?

Since almost as long as I've had my phone, there has been a notification that a text message failed to send.  I don't have any unsent text messages.  Early on, I even deleted all of my text message 'conversations'.  Didn't matter.  There's still a notification on there to this day.

Or where to stop at a toll booth door.

I hated when they rolled past and either backed up to the booth or worse yet get out of their car ( against safety protocols) and walk up to me in the booth.

Heh. Then you have people who are just oblivious. See this Street View image from Naples, Florida. A few years ago we had gone to a nearby waterpark with our relatives and we stopped at Jason's Deli (directly behind the camera viewpoint here) for lunch. My brother-in-law was parked in the space next to the red Acura you see in that image. For some reason, he failed to realize there were chocks there. He backed up slightly, turned the wheel to the left to avoid the handicap sign, and drove forward, slamming his minivan violently over the chocks and freaking everyone out. No alcohol had been consumed at the time of this incident!
