Headlines About California Highways – July 2025

All the business routes have been added to the %LINKS section, as well as the Interstate Guide stuff. This will be in the next round of updates when completed -- hopefully before the headline post in August. Similarly with all the highway page updates for the links for AARoads, which I finished yesterday.

Regarding the .../california/blather.html links: Let me know when those are updated. There are a small number of those links to specific pages, typically as credit links for images sources, that I'll need to fix manually.

I converted/updated the two remaining html pages for Business Loop I-15:

Almost all of the shields for the route were removed. The first shield northbound does not appear until after the exchange with SR 78. There are southbound shields to at least south of Washington Avenue.

Barstow:

Still fairly well signed, but several less shields than what was posted in 2013/14. No signage for the turn from Main Street west onto L Street south. Per GSV, This overhead was simply removed, but the gantry is still there.

To honor MSN, next time I drive from Sacramento to LA I'll use the little-known backroad, CA-99.

At least the five (not six) they picked actual are scenic.  33 through Wheeler Gorge in particular was not something I'd expect to see on a normie article.
