The Saint Thomas Vincent Bridge

While Vincent Thomas was a popular assemblyman, I don't believe he was ever canonized.
I was completely out of it the other night. Doctor has me on benzos to rid myself of this alcohol addiction and I don't know what I was thinking.

Update:

QuoteRoughly 14% of the entire package, $700 million, has been set aside for repairs and upgrades for the Los Angeles Vincent Thomas Bridge, including replacing its deteriorating bridge deck.

Built in 1963, the 1,500-foot suspension bridge connects San Pedro and Terminal Island and, due to years of heavy traffic, exhibits concrete fatigue and environmental deterioration, partly due to its marine environment. Other upgrades coming to the Vincent Thomas Bridge as part of this project include new seismic sensors, railings, fences and a median barrier.

Caltrans awarded the contract to Skanska-CEC Joint Venture, which will use a construction manager-general contractor delivery method to foster earlier collaboration between the two during the design phase. Caltrans and Skanska-CEC Joint Venture will then negotiate a price for the project based on the agreed upon construction schedule.

With work set to begin later this year, the Vincent Thomas Bridge is scheduled to fully close in Fall 2026 and reopen in Winter 2027, in time for the 2028 Olympics.

Here's another article that talks about possibly raising the bridge by 26 feet. I remember reading something else that they are now ruling that out, which could indicate if possible complete replacement in the future or perhaps building a companion bridge beside it. This probably won't happen anytime soon though.

Quote from: Plutonic Panda on September 30, 2023, 03:17:17 AMFor the most part I 10 from the 405 to CA 47 seems to flow fairly well. Perhaps in additional lane or some auxiliary improvements could help during heavy traffic conditions, but otherwise it seems to flow pretty well most of the time.

You mean I-405 from the 10 to CA-47?

Quote from: Plutonic Panda on September 30, 2023, 03:17:17 AMThe 10/I405 interchange is a complete joke, and needs to be converted to a full stack interchange.

It is a full stack interchange.

I'm pretty sure every time Panda says 10 they mean 110.
The onramp from I-10 East to I-405 South is an absolute travesty though.

I don't like is I-10 East to I-405 North either. And I-405 North to I-10 needs two more lanes, one for each I-10 direction.

Sorry I-10 has nothing to do with this I mistyped. I meant I-110.

So it would be I-110 from the 405 to CA-47.

The interchange I was talking about regarding the one on I-110 is the 405 interchange. It'd mayhem

The one I used the most is I-405 North to I-110 South. The loop ramp slows everyone down, but is not that much of a bother for me, although it could be getting worse, since I have not been there very often since 2019.

I-405 South to I-110 north is equally bad and the traffic often backs up to mainline I-405 south even on a Sunday. (Made worse by the terrible weaving starting about a mile from the interchange)
