There are lots of weird threads that got deleted.  One we already mentioned was the Mary Hannah/Peekaboo thread.

Anyone remember the explosion threads from a few years back?  I can't find the original Moon Explosion thread due to bad gateway errors, but here's my contribution.

Quote from: PColumbus73 on May 27, 2026, 08:18:15 AMPerkins Union was fun for the various crimes and punishments... all while OP was insisting Perkins Union was not a strict authoritarian state.
I think my favorite part was when he did so only to post shortly thereafter about someone being burned at the stake for a violation of the fire safety code (to be fair, said violation resulted in deaths, but still).

Quote from: kphoger on May 27, 2026, 11:41:32 AMAnd let's not forget all the off-the-wall threads that Tim starts:
Does thinking about roads send you to the bathroom?
The fact that it took this long to mention him (rather than being the first obvious example) says something about this forum.

The "Wallethub" thread because of Crash_It spilling his guts about his thoughts about "various things."

Looking through these gave me some good laughs.  Almost as good as Alanland.  One thing I've realized is that Tim would probably be one heck of a fun roommate.

In chronological order:

Driving into flatulence (the OP is a great read)
Spitting beverages across the table at restaurants
Anyone ever call glasses "glosses"
A mildly gross but absolutely HILARIOUS story from grade school!
Opening cans with your teeth (I forgot about my reply in that one)
Has anyone else ever blown a bubble with an Arby's roast beef sandwich?
Portraits of all the Presidents with punk rocker teeth?
Pieing signs
Ever smash a King Don in your face because you saw Weird Al do it? (OP:  "Admit it, we all did this")
Getting hair in your bubble gum
Ruining a book by closing it on a bubble
Have you ever met a pirate?
Finally! A video where I open a can with my teeth!
A person Chewed Gum And Thought It Was Funny
Ruining stuff at Chuck E. Cheese's
Gum caught in a Jane Child
I "mortgaged" a 'Sesame Street' pennant because it had a scary picture of Oscar
Chewing used wads of gum
Eating food off the floor at a restaurant
Holiday Inn Conquering game
People whose heads are shaped like a Speak & Spell
People who yell out, "Hoolg! Hoolg!"
Glue (Beltway:  "Gluicide - when you take one shot of Superglue up each nostril, and a line of it across your lips.")
Throwing things at people while they're reading a newspaper

When I looked at that just now, I saw my comment about how on occasion over the years I've tilted the back of the sunroof open and then set the climate control to "defrost" to blow any fart smell out the open sunroof.

That, in turn, prompted me to think of this, which I saw last night:

"You know, you never have a guaranteed spot until you have a spot guaranteed."
—Olaf Kolzig, as quoted in the Washington Times on March 28, 2003,
commenting on the Capitals clinching a playoff spot.

"That sounded stupid, didn't it?"
—Kolzig, to the same reporter a few seconds later.

Yes, because the answer to this question should be so obvious that nobody has to even ask:

Alanland.

This was before your time. I think the thread ID for a certain bbarr was like 8? Looking back, it was definitely an odd choice.

I can't believe we all just accepted this as fact.  Looking back now, it sounds very suspicious.  What is Alex hiding?

Interestingly, Off-Topic was "The Rest Stop".

Classic teenage posting, thinking random=peak comedy.

The original was made when I was I think 17...so very fair comment. It was a parody of this from Flickr Groups:

Of course, the thing you learn about parody after you do it for a while is that if the audience isn't familiar with the thing you're parodying, they just assume you're the one who came up with it.

I thought it was a knockoff of...well, a knockoff of the Klondike Bar.

I really like how thread 32768 (=2^15) is called "PC run amok". It wasn't originally about computers but quickly turned into one.

I will gladly be selfish and say that the weirdest is and isn't "The Annexation of Alanland". (Just kidding.)

Real talk though, I wasn't around back then but any of the Tolbs17 threads just seemed straight up out of a teenagers mind who was too interested in general chatting then actual polite discussion about road hobby, especially some of that Mary Hannah stuff.
