Would the majority of those in the area of Photo #2 be celebrating a football championship this year?

Let me find a better clue.

It's been a good year for these photos, and this one was not taken too far from Lincoln's birthday. The highway was fairly clear that day too.

That confirms my suspicion. Now all you hunters fire up Google Maps and think about a burning river. ;-)

I'm thinking US-35 in Ohio between Chillicothe and Gallipolis.

The clues point to one particular area of the state.  Would it be from that area, or could it be anywhere in the state?

I've been all around what I think is that region, but still no dice.  How big of region are we talking about?  Local to the particular city that the clues point toward, or a good distance all around?

I know US 35 very well.  The only concrete section of rural US 35 in Ohio is in flat, open country.  Too much terrain in that pic.

I knew it was in Ohio, but I had been leaning toward I-77 near Marietta.
I hate Clearview, because it looks like a cheap Chinese ripoff.

Ready for the next one.  Whaddya got, Steve? (besides spam, Spanish Inquisitions, expired parrots and tips for how not to be seen?)

Damn, I was posting that too... So that's what a DDI looks like in person.

Well that didn't take very long.  I guess the signage helps...

This was the very first DDI completed in the US.  It got a lot of press coverage.  I've never been to Springfield, MO, but I knew where this was too.

kphoger

Haven't driven through that DDI in a few years, but I recognized it immediately, and that was a small image on my phone without being able to read the signs. Something about the pavement colors gave it away.

^^ I couldn't read the signs either.  Took it from the pavement colors and that it was the first DDI in America.
