Looks a bit like the Super-two freeway on US 6 in Cape Cod.
Only two things are infinite in this world, stupidity, and I-75 construction

I've never been to Cape Cod, even in my own car.

I was wondering if it was MA 2 in its Super 2 section, but I know the middle markers are much more substantial than that.

I have no idea. Maybe the trees?

Personally, I think it looks like the South from the trees.

Yeah, I know the shrubs don't look right, either. :D

To you, what defines the south? is it the mason dixon line? The Ohio River? Is Virginia still truely the south, or does hte south begin on the east coast at NC? or is it a regional thing that extends into some border states of the rivers/lines/etc?

I detect a hint.

From the hints it could be something in Virginia or NC.

Georgia, Louisiana, or Mississippi come to mind. Sorry for not elaborating. I'm not an expert with which state agencies do what with roads, but that's my guess.

After a bit of research, I can surmise that this photo (if taken from a super-2, as I presume) isn't from VA or NC. My best guess would have to be MD 90 on the Eastern Shore.

It isn't a super 2.

It is possible to kind of tell that by the shoulder widths. It seems to be something that is normally 4 lanes.

Correct. And here is another hint..... It is a two plate state.

Well judging by all the hints it could be Virginia.

Or maybe i am leading you on a wild goose chase, and it isn't in the south. One of the hints may have clued you into a region.

It's definitely one carriageway of a normal freeway or expressway being pressed into service during construction.

It's not Missouri, the rumble strips are not on the stripes.
The separation of carriageways could be Wisconsin.  It's a common setup there.

You're right on the money with the first one, and second, but not the third.

This condition is less than a month old, it is a very heavily trafficked truck route.

Here: TX 150 just east of I-45 in New Waverly, Texas.

I'm sorry. You have guessed wrong.

It is a normally 4 lane divided highway, with a wide median in this section.
