At this time there are plans in works of a St. Louis area road meet.  The date is tentatively set for December 15 at this time.  Some points of interest that will be the subject of this meet include but not limited to:

New I-70 Bridge Construction
IL 255 completion
I-270 canal bridge replacement project
MO 141 extension
MO 364

Please keep in mind that plans are still preliminary at the time and can change as I will be giving a few more days to see if there are objections to the tentative date.

Edit: time and meeting place is confirmed the file will be updated at a later time.

IL -255 Ribbon cutting is Noon on Oct 26 just north of seminary road to open the section to Humbert Road
Its a little early for the meet . I cant make it maybe someone here can and be the first to drive it

Another section opens in November, and work schedule is not going to make it possible for me to do any road meets before December.

I would love to attend a road meet in St. Louis. The only problem for me is that I have a conflict on December 15. :(

It's iffy for me. I likely won't know until the last minute. Will Ted Drewe's still be open?

I'm game.  It's only a mere 3-1/2 hours away.

If I get to come, I'd probably stay in Evansville Friday and Saturday nights, as I did for the last STL meet. Maybe some of I-69 would be open for me to check out Sunday morning before I head back home.

I also have a conflict on that day so I - unfortunately - would not be able to attend on that particular day :(

If I can get off work, I'd be interested in making this my first road meet.  I'm from the Chicago area, not too far away.

SWEET!!! Looks like this may be my next road meet! Only a 5 and a half hour drive from middle TN and the local diecast club usually has a show the 3rd Sunday of the month and I think the 16 would be the day!

Sorry for jumping the gun, the 15th is perfect for both my wife and I and that would be the only Saturday in December, the rest are tied up with either work, diecast toy shows or traveling to PA for holidays.

9am may be a bit early for me to attend the meet unless I leave work early on friday but will see, I know we are starting to get in that time of the year when days are pretty short (especailly here in middle TN just west of the time zone change) will keep you guys posted.

Kim, may I suggest 11 am instead?  Many of the recent road meets I've seen, Wausau, Kalamazoo, Joliet, Port Huron, Dayton, have all started at 11 am or so.

Back In The Day (TM), road meeets started at 12, period. 11 or 11:30 seems to be more and more accepted. Interesting how they've evolved.

This is because of daylight time, correct? The meets that I've attended that started at 11, 11:30 were in the late fall-winter-early spring.

And longer tours.  Thanks to the pending move of St. Lawrence county to 11/4 (from 11/3) we'll soon have one that's both.

A 9 a.m. start time would be very difficult for people driving from several hours away. If this meet were held on a weekend I could attend, I would likely do part of the drive down from Michigan on Friday evening and do the rest of the drive Saturday morning. (Moot point for me though, since I'm not available December 15.)

Thats the thing, I understand the fact that we have shorter day light in December but it is a 5 and a half drive for me and I don't know if I can get Friday the 14th off of work to drive up since the weekend before that I will be in Monroeville, PA for a toy convention. I will play this by ear at this point and I am still down as a "maybe" on facebook.

I remember the meet that was held at the sporting goods store/restaurant in Michigan, just across the state line from South Bend several years ago. The meet started early, broke for lunch, and then continued. I drove up just for the lunch since it was at noon. That was before I started traveling and staying overnight for meets.

If I do a western Kentucky meet, that's how it will run. We'll start about about 9:30 or so local time and stop for lunch en route.

The multi-day meets seem to be a thing of the past.

Kim, thanks for changing it to 11am (I saw the Facebook post).  If anyone from the Chicago area (or otherwise) wants, I have 3 open seats in my car for going down to the meet in St Louis.

Put me down as a "Maybe" at this time...this would give me an excuse to drive the newly-signed stretch of I-49 in Missouri on my way to/from St. Louis.

jpi

I am still a yes however, my wife is sitting this one out, too much going with her job and getting ready for a trip to central PA for Christmas the next weekend but since this road meet ties in with a local diecast toy show on Sunday the 16th, works out great for me.

I am no longer planning to attend.  Too much going on with me.
