County Road 20A

CR 20A is an unsigned route looping 9.18 miles south from SR 20 in western Putnam County. Beginning across from the south end of SR 21, CR 20A runs between South Twin Lake and Lak-a-wana Lake to the rural community of Mc Meekin. A CSX Railroad line accompanies CR 20A east between Mc Meekin Lake and Cowpen Lake to the settlement of Crossley.
CR 20A intersects CR 21 at Johnson before shifting northward along Keuka Road to the railroad siding of Edgar. Curving northeast toward Interlachen, CR 20A extends beyond the CSX Railroad end at Keuka to SR 20 in the town.
Renumbered to CR 2082, a second branch of CR 20A was designated in Alachua County east from SR 20 near Newnans Lake and Rochelle to Hawthorne. The 2.38 mile long western section connects CR 234 at Rochelle with CR 325 at Phifer. The eastern leg runs 6.1 miles from CR 325 to CR 200A (SE 221st Street) in Hawthorne.
CR 2082 northwest from CR 234 to SR 20 near Newnans Lake was demolished following a vote by the Board of Alachua County Commissioners to permanently close the scenic stretch of highway. The decision was a cost cutting move, made after the pavement along CR 2082 deteriorated significantly. Options considered prior to the March 2019 Commissioners' recommendation to close the road included rehabilitating the road, chip-sealing the road or closing the road to all traffic but allowing access to private land owners.1

Curving southeast toward Mc Meekin, CR 20A lowers from 162 feet above sea level at SR 20/21 to 107 feet at Cowpen Lake.

Removed by 2011, a confirming marker for County Road 20A was previously posted at the eastbound beginning of the loop.
