County Road 181 ventures northwest from Westville to Hickory Hill, Prosperity and Leonia in Holmes County. Turning west from Darlington in Walton County, CR 181 continues to SR 83 at Gaskin and the state line south of Alabama Route 54. CR 181 runs 29.62 miles overall.
The southern branch of County Road 181 extends south from U.S. 90 at Westville 5.26 miles to the Walton County line. Within Walton County, CR 181 is inventoried by FDOT GIS as CR 181C but signed as both. The 5.74 mile long route connects with CR 181A north to Ponce de Leon Springs State Park and SR 81.
