Interstate 24

Interstate 24 travels 93.97 miles overall through western portions of the Bluegrass State. The route joins Paducah with Calvert City and Oak Grove near the Tennessee border.
Entering from Illinois across the Ohio River east of Metropolis, I-24 initially arcs southeast through western reaches of Paducah, turning east at Reidland. Interstate 69 joins the freeway south of Calvert City, ahead of the Tennessee River. Bypassing the Land Between the Lakes National Recreational Area to the north, I-24/69 continue east to Eddyville, where I-69 branches off along the Western Kentucky Parkway to Princeton.
I-24 angles southeast from the Western Kentucky Parkway along a rural course toward Hopkinsville, passing to the south of the Christian County seat. The Edward T. Breathitt (Pennyrile) Parkway (future I-169) extends from Hopkinsville to tie into I-24 north of Fort Campbell and Oak Grove. Continuing southeast from Oak Grove, Interstate 24 enters the Volunteer State and northeastern reaches of Clarksville.
