Future I-74/U.S. 74 West - Rockingham


NC 381 provides one of three connections to Hamlet from the bypass freeway. Forming a multi state route with S.C. 381, NC 381 extends 10.62 miles north from the state line to U.S. 74 Business.

Continuing west, Future I-74/U.S. 74 pass under Old Gibson Road (SR 1615) one mile from the diamond interchange (Exit 319) with NC 38 (Louis Breeden Boulevard).

NC 177, like NC 381, follows a CSX Railroad corridor southward from Hamlet into South Carolina. S.C. 177 extends southwest to S.C. 9 at Wallace.

NC 177 runs 16.32 miles from the state line north to U.S. 1 near Marston. Connections with S.C. 9 and U.S. 1 lead south to Cheraw.

U.S. 1 heads 16.1 miles south from the parclo interchange at Exit 311 to S.C. 9 near Cheraw, South Carolina.

North from Exit 311, U.S. 1 passes through Jefferson Park in East Rockingham 1.13 miles to the northbound beginning of U.S. 220. U.S. 1 leads into Downtown Rockingham while U.S. 220 bypasses to the west.

U.S. 1 represents a major route northeast from Rockingham to Pinehurst, Southern Pines and the Research Triangle. South into the Palmetto State, U.S. 1 combines with U.S. 52 through Cheraw en route to Columbia.

Zion Church Road winds 0.91 miles north from the Cordova community to U.S. 74 near a large quarry. Eastward Galestown Roads runs 2.12 miles to Midway Road (SR 1124) near Yates Hill.

Under construction from November 2019 to 2024, the Rockingham Bypass segment of I-73/74 will tie into U.S. 74 at the exchange (Exit 306) joining U.S. 74 with U.S. 74 Business west of Piney Grove and West Rockingham.
