Interstate 84

Interstate 84 in Idaho stretches 275.53 miles southeast from the Snake River and Oregon border near Fruitland to the Beehive State through Curlew Valley. I-84 joins Caldwell, Nampa and the capital city of Boise along a suburban or urban route. The remainder of the route in the Gem State is generally rural, with I-84 passing well north of Twin Falls and bypassing smaller cities such as Mountain Home, Jerome and Burley.

Business routes from Interstate 84 are located at Caldwell, Nampa, Mountain Home, Glenns Ferry, Bliss, Burley and Heyburn. There was also a business loop at Hammett.

West

Paralleling U.S. 30/95, I-84 enters Fayette County, Idaho south from Ontario, Oregon. U.S. 95 meets I-84 by Palisades Corner while U.S. 30 loops east to New Plymouth and south onto I-15 at Exit 9. I-84/U.S. 30 overlap southward to Caldwell, where U.S. 20/26 tie into the freeway from Parma to the northwest.

U.S. 20/26/30 follow I-84 into Caldwell while Business Loop I-84 branches south onto Old U.S. 30 to Downtown and the city of Nampa. U.S. 20/26 separate from the freeway east to Boise while I-84/U.S. 30 head south into Nampa before turning east toward the state capital.

East of Meridian, I-84/U.S. 30 enter Boise ahead of Interstate 184, a spur northeast to U.S. 20/26 at Downtown. I-84/U.S. 30 run across the south side of the capital city to Boise Airport (BOI). U.S. 20/26 return to I-84/U.S. 30 via S Broadway Avenue at Exit 54.

I-84/U.S. 20-26-30 head southeast from Boise Valley to the Elmore County seat of Mountain Home. Business Loop I-84 follows Old U.S. 30 south to the city center and Old U.S. 20 east to Exit 95, where U.S. 20 parts ways with Interstate 84 east to Fairfield.

U.S. 26/30 remain alongside Interstate 84 southeast from Mountain Home to Bliss. Business routes for I-84 serve Hammett, Glens Ferry and Bliss. U.S. 26 bee lines east from Exit 141 to Gooding and Shoshone while U.S. 30 leads south to Hagerman and Buhl.

Traversing agricultural areas and ranchland, I-84 continues southeast from Bliss to Wendell, Jerome and U.S. 93 at Exit 173. I-84 turns east from ID 50 / Exit 182 along a linear course to mile marker 204 in Mindoka County. The freeway shifts a half mile south before passing north of Burley and Heyburn, where another business route is located.

U.S. 30 returns to Interstate 84 northeast from Heyburn and overlaps with the freeway from Exit 211 to the west end of I-86 at Exit 222. I-86/U.S. 30 extends east to Pocatello while I-84 angles southeast into the Raft River Valley. Replacing what was U.S. 30S, I-84 passes between the Black Pine Mountains and Sublett Range into Juniper Valley.
