Interstate 295 North - East Beltway

Interstate 295

Comprising 25.53 miles of the overall loop around Jacksonville, the East Beltway of Interstate 295 encircles the city from I-95 near Greenland to I-95 in the vicinity of the Jacksonville International Airport (JAX). Originally signed as SR 9A, the East Beltway was constructed between 1983 and 2009. When upgrades to the J.T. Butler Boulevard (SR 202) interchange were completed in July 2009, plans advanced to renumber the beltway as I-295. A $1.3 million sign project commenced December 2011 to update signage along the East Beltway, making the change from SR 9A to I-295. That project wrapped up in Spring 2012.1
