Maryland Route 4

Maryland Route 4 extends east from Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. through the suburbs of Suitland and Meadows. The state route upgrades to a freeway bypass of Upper Marlboro and Bristol before turning southward into Calvert County. MD 4 maintains four lanes alongside MD 2 from Sunderland south to the Patuxent River near Solomons. The state route concludes a 64.85 mile long course (Pruett, 2010) at MD 5 near Leonardtown.
