Route 36

NY 36 extends north from PA 249 and the state line through the town of Troupsburg to the south. The 95.14 mile long route ventures north through rural Steuben County to Canisteo and the city of Hornell.

Northward from Arkport, NY 36 continues through the town of Dansville to Livingston County. Through the village of Dansville, NY 36 meets Interstate 390 twice and combines with NY 63 along Main Street through Downtown.

Northwest from Dansville, NY 36 parallels I-390 through West Sparta. The two diverge ahead of Mount Morris and Leicester, where NY 36 briefly combines with U.S. 20.The state route exits Livingston County through the village of Caledonia.

Entering Monroe County, NY 36 runs 15.23 miles north to NY 531 west of Spencerport. The state route meets Interstate 490 at Churchville midway.
