U.S. 17 enters the unincorporated community of DeLeon Springs south of Spring Garden Ranch Road (unsigned CR 4030).

Expanding into a four lane arterial, U.S. 17 converges with Ponce DeLeon Boulevard (CR 3) south at Baxter Street. CR 3 angles northwest to De Leon Springs State Park.

Continuing south through the De Leon Springs street grid, U.S. 17 next meets CR 4053 south at Retta Street.

CR 4053 takes Retta Street west onto Grand Avenue south along a 6.58 mile long course to Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge and SR 44 (W New York Avenue) outside DeLand.
