State Route 17

Utah State Route 17 connects Interstate 15 with the cities of Toquerville and La Verkin. 6.09 miles in length, SR 17 runs south from I-15 at Exit 27 to SR 9 (500 North) along State Street in La Verkin. This includes Toquerville Parkway, a 4.5 mile long, two-lane bypass to the west of Toquerville.
Construction on Toquerville Parkway kicked off with a groundbreaking ceremony held on February 24, 2022 (City of Toquerville, 2025). A ribbon cutting ceremony for the roadway took place on the morning of July 10, 2025. Construction activities continued into mid-September 2025. The parkway shifts through traffic headed to Zion National Park away from Downtown Toquerville while also opening up adjacent land for new residential and commercial development (Larsen, 2025).
