Quote from: paulthemapguy on June 06, 2025, 02:06:06 PMThat is funny coming from you. You're the one who's overly sensitive about what pretty much everyone gets up to. Even in your signature you show your sensitivity (perhaps developed into a full-blown hatred) toward an entire city and an entire government.

But HB has always been against moderation.  The only instance I can recall to the contrary was when another member was harassing him via PM.  To whatever extent he's sensitive to what others get up to, I've never gotten the impression he thinks their online activity should be curtailed or their voices silenced in any way.

Do us all a favor a get the fuck over yourself.

You have publicly complained about AARoads' moderation at least a dozen times now. Take it up with moderation staff privately.

And yet, you probably would have been banned or restricted in many other circumstances for posting something that came from a white supremacist, and you're still here. Hey, we all make a mistake sometimes. But some of us learn form those errors, or at the least, privately keep those grudges to ourselves like real adults.

And that's a good thing...because without you, I'd never know you don't like Louisville, or that Sheetz is still better than Wawa for the twenty-ninth time. You've always got the entire rest of the world to bitch to on all of your other platforms about everything that bothers you, while you accomplish exactly zero to improve your own lot in life.

I'm sorry the world moved on and didn't ask for you opinion first, but that's the breaks.

If I recall correctly he tried to play the victim and the omitted critical details his response to the claimed harasser.  Those critical details painted a very different picture than the original narrative HB was trying to spin.  Yeah, the PM shouldn't have happened but the response to it was even worse (IMO).

As I said, that instance is the only one I can think of where HB suggested someone shouldn't be able to speak their mind on the forum—and that wasn't even in a public setting.  I'm sure he would have been just fine hashing it out with  LilianaUwU in the public thread.  Yes, he gave as good as he got through PMs of his own.  Yes, he shouldn't have posted private communication for everyone to see.  But reporting abusive PMs, even if the reporting is hypocritical, isn't the same thing as wanting public forum moderation.

I'm not concerned with the fact that he retaliated; free speech has consequences. I think I actually defended him at the time in that regard. The content of that retaliation is what I was referring to re: "Free expression for me. Not for thee."

Plus if SPUI had linked to some obscure YouTube video with an obvious left-wing slant as a source, the moderation would probably have banned him for 30 days. Ditto if he had publicly shared something about reading a book titled "The Republican Party Hates America." You have been treated more than fairly here, HB.

Speaking of the US, other countries were at D-Day too. How come the only posts I see on social media are centered on just America's efforts?

Maybe because just under half of the landing force was from the US Armed Forces. Or that a majority of the Allied casualties were American.

Not everything has to be "America bad".

I don't even think Halloween gets locked up to begin with.

Dr Moraseski was given a very long leash for a very long time, and he was given multiple second chances.  I couldn't count how many times he called conservatives profane names on here without reprimand.  I don't know what prompted the mods to take whatever action actually produced a noticeable improvement.

Honestly, I don't mind giving longtime forum veterans a long leash, and that goes for both Daniel and Hayes.  But I really don't think the mods would have banned the former for linking to a nauseatingly left-wing YouTube;  they probably would have had the same response as they did with the latter for linking to embedding a nauseatingly right-wing YouTube.

I kind of had the opposite happen one time.  I was on my way to the mechanic for a brake job and, a few blocks away from the shop, I blew a red light.  I t-boned another vehicle at about 30 mph.  No brake job required that day...

I don't think everything in America is bad, as much as I'm vocal about things that are bad about America.

Hope improvement projects.

That's really a springtime thing.  People come out of winter wanting to work on stuff around the house.  People aren't thinking about construction projects in the heat of July and August.

The end of winter malaise does tend make one more hopefully.  You might say it is "hope improvement."
