U.S. 85

U.S. 85

U.S. 85 travels the height of Colorado along the Interstate 25 corridor from Trinidad to Pueblo, Colorado Springs and Denver. The overlap with I-25 is not acknowledged, and the route overall is unposted from El Paso, Texas to Fountain. North from Castle Rock, U.S. 85 splits with I-25 again for Sedalia and Littleton. The segment of U.S. 85 north to Baker in Denver follows Santa Fe Drive, an expressway like road that features grade separations and a parallel light rail corridor.

Hidden overlaps take U.S. 85 north along Interstate 25 to Globeville in Denver, and east on I-70 to the Denver community of Elyria Swansea. U.S. 85 emerges from the freeway alongside U.S. 6 on Vasquez Boulevard to Commerce City. North from SH 2, U.S. 6/85 briefly overlap with I-76 before U.S. 85 shifts north onto Greeley Highway to Brighton, Fort Lupton, Platteville, Gilcrest, La Salle, Greeley and Ault en route to Cheyenne, Wyoming.
