I was wondering why Pole Line Road's southern half had different imagery from its northern half. Well, there it is.

Wouldn't it be a pisser to have to turn around and go all the way back to Tonopah from that point?

On a similar topic, I enjoy finding pinned locations where people dump a bunch of unrelated photos.  It irks me that they do this, but it can be fun to find them and look through the photos.

The location name translates from Spanish as "crashed airplanes".

I found a bizarre stitching error at the northernmost AZ-101/AZ-202 interchange near Tempe, 08/2018 satellite. Sadly i'm not sure how to share old google earth imagery as a link. I also found a stitching error somewhere on CA-78 near San Diego, but haven't been able to find it. It's not that bad, just a single lane

Holy shit. I can only find one frame immediately before the accident, but from that it looks like the red truck just pulled out in front of the Google car, which struck the  right front corner of the truck.

And if you go back to the March 2023 imagery, before the tornado, I think you can see that truck sitting in the third driveway along Pinkins Road.  Hmm...

I found two things on (what is essentially) one road (it has two names in two counties).

On Gilbert Pit Road (named for the quarries it passes) in Parker County, Texas, there's an old railroad bridge and a low water crossing right beside each other.  I've never been there (a problem I'll correct sometime), but on Street View it looks like the railroad bridge is accessible.  I don't see anything blocking it.  Both Street View cars went over the low crossing.  It may be that the high bridge is used only when the low crossing is flooded.  I would think a railroad bridge would be wide enough for a truck, but maybe some of those quarry trucks are too wide and need the other crossing.

On the same road, called Light Road in Hood County, there's what appear to be water depth markers painted onto the pavement on fairly steep approaches to a bridge.  My guess is that they're each painted one vertical foot higher up the road.  It helps to switch to the 2023 view.  It was cloudy that day and you don't have to look through those shadows.  I've never seen that before.  When I go to see the railroad bridge, I'll get a look at this, too.

I would too.  At least from my perspective on GSV, the low water crossing looks like the 'main road' on both approaches.
