State Road 423 is a 7.53 mile route arcing northeast from Orlando to Winter Park. The state road follows a portion of John Young Parkway, a major arterial connecting Orlando with Kissimmee, from Church Street and SR 408 (East-West Expressway) to U.S. 441 (Orange Blossom Trail) and SR 434 (John Young Parkway Extension). Lee Road continues the route east through Fairview Shores to U.S. 17/92 (Orlando Avenue) in Winter Park.
Florida State Road 423 Guides
A $41.8 million project constructed a flyover across U.S. 441 directly linking SR 423 with a SR 434 along a northward extension of John Young Parkway. The new connection bypasses the intersection of SR 423 with U.S. 441 (OBT) and Lee Road, and provides a seamless route with SR 434 north from Edgewater Drive (SR 424). A portion of John Young Parkway was widened from four to six lanes as well. A ribbon cutting ceremony took place on September 19, 2013. Work wrapped up on the two plus year construction the following month.1
