California 233 (Robertson Boulevard) enters the city of Chowchilla. Located at an elevation of 237 feet, Chowchilla covers either four square miles (per City webpage) or seven miles (per U.S. Census Bureau) in northern Madera County. Robertson Boulevard is named for city founder Orlando Alison Robertson, who laid out the town on the former Chowchilla Ranch and set a grand opening for the master-planned town on October 15, 1912.
