
Delaware 5 comprises a rural route in interior eastern Sussex County between Delaware 1, Milton, Harbeson, and Oak Orchard on Indian River Bay. The state highway has been around since at least 1944. Two overlaps exist on Delaware 5, one with Delaware 23 near Fairmont and the other with Delaware 24 north of Oak Orchard.
