The Guide to Delaware State Route 44

Delaware 44 remains vastly unchanged from its inception by 1938. Its function is to provide a through route between Delaware 8 (Hartly Road) and Delaware 300 (Sudlersville Road) for traffic destined to U.S. 301 in Maryland from the capital city of Dover. Delaware 44 veers westward from Delaware 8 extending Hartly Road to junction Delaware 11 (Arthursville Road) at Hartly (pop. 78). Roughly three miles northwest of there is the western end at Everetts Corner and junction Delaware 300. Ten miles separate U.S. 301 from Everetts Corner via Delaware 300 & Maryland 300.
