While the right lane exits only to Interstate 70, the two left lanes continue along Interstate 81. The control city is distant Roanoke, Virginia, but the freeway will pass through several population centers before reaching Roanoke, including Martinsburg, West Virginia; Winchester, Virginia; and Staunton, Virginia. Maryland 63 and Maryland 68 head northwest together to meet U.S. 11 in Williamsport; they split north of there, with Maryland 63 heading north through Huyett and Cearfoss into Pennsylvania and Maryland 68 angling northwest to end at U.S. 40 in Clear Spring.
