The New England Thruway consists of Interstate 95 between Pelham Parkway and the Connecticut Turnpike. The toll road is maintained by the New York State Thruway Authority.

Exit 10 consists of a left side off-ramp onto the westbound beginning of Gun Hill Road from within the Interstate 95 interchange with the Hutch. Gun Hill Road ventures through the Baychester, Williams Bridge, and Norwood communities in the north Bronx. Large nets in the background are associated with a former golf driving range. 08/29/05
Exit 11 departs in quick succession onto the Baychester Avenue frontage street near Bay Plaza Shopping Center and Co-Op City. Bartow Avenue intersects Baychester Avenue in an east-west fashion between Co-Op City Boulevard and Gun Hill Road. 08/29/05
Six lanes of Interstate 95 (New England Thruway) continue through the Exit 11 modified-diamond interchange with Bartow Avenue. High rises of Co-Op City appear between the New England Thruway and the Hutchinson River to the east. 08/29/05
Baychester Avenue diverges from Interstate 95 in a northwest trajectory to East Chester and Wakefield in the north Bronx at Exit 12. A left side off-ramp provides a direct connection from the New England Thruway northbound. 08/29/05
Interstate 95 northbound at the split with Baychester Avenue (Exit 12). An on-ramp joins the freeway from the Baychester Avenue frontage street to the right. Baychester Avenue northwest intersects U.S. 1 (Boston Road) and East 223rd Street at Seton Falls Park within one mile. 08/29/05
The final Co-Op City area off-ramp serves Conner Street at Exit 13 on Interstate 95 northbound. Conner Street and Peartree Avenue join the New England Thruway with Co-Op City Boulevard to the south. Co-Op City represents three dozen or so middle-class high rise towers built on reclaimed land in the Hutchinson River watershed. 08/29/05
Conner Street becomes Provost Avenue (NY 22) north of its intersection with U.S. 1 (Boston Road) nearby. Provost Avenue in turn becomes 3rd Avenue at the New York City line with Mount Vernon. 08/29/05
Attached to the Dyre Avenue pedestrian over crossing is the Exit 13 overhead directing motorists onto the adjacent Tillotson Avenue. Tillotson Avenue continues Baychester Avenue as the northbound side frontage street of Interstate 95 to the Hutchinson River. Conner Street intersects Tillotson Avenue nearby. 08/29/05

After a ramp from the Hutch onto Interstate 95 north at Pelham Bay Park, Interstate 95 enters Pelham Manor. Pictured here is the one half mile guide sign for U.S. 1 (Boston Post Road). Boston Post Road represents the pre-freeway through route between New York and New Haven, Connecticut. U.S. 1 follows the road through the cities of New Rochelle, Rye, and Mamaroneck. 08/29/05
A half-cloverleaf interchange joins Interstate 95 with U.S. 1 (Boston Post Road) near the Pelham Manor and New Rochelle city limit. Kings Highway meets Boston Post Road nearby to provide a route into Pelham to the west. 08/29/05
A second overhead directs motorists onto U.S. 1 (Boston Post Road) from Interstate 95 (New England Thruway) northbound. U.S. 1 enters Pelham Manor to the west on the 1.25 mile drive to Hutchinson River Parkway. Northward, the US highway transitions into Main Street for downtown New Rochelle. 08/29/05
Interstate 95 enters the central business district area of New Rochelle at the Exit 16 interchange complex with Cedar Street, North Avenue, Memorial Highway, Garden Street, and River Streets. 08/29/05
Interstate 95 northbound at the Division Street over crossing in New Rochelle. Exit 16 ahead serves the New Rochelle station of the New York Metro line and the New Rochelle City shopping complex. 08/29/05
North Avenue passes over Interstate 95 northbound ahead of the Exit 16 off-ramp onto the parallel Garden Street. North Avenue heads north from Pelham Road to Wilmot Road and Mill Road in north New Rochelle. 08/29/05
Exit 16 parts ways with Interstate 95 northbound and meets Garden Street nearby. Garden Street provides the link to North Avenue, Memorial Highway, Cedar and River Streets. River and Cedar Streets lead south to Hugenot Street and U.S. 1 (Main Street) at the New Rochelle City area. Memorial Highway loops northwest to North Avenue and Norman Rockwell Boulevard. 08/29/05
Exit 16 represents the last departure point ahead of the lone New England Thruway toll plaza in New Rochelle. All passenger vehicles are levied a $1.75 toll (2013 rates) for using the northbound freeway. 08/29/05
The New York Thruway authority maintains the New England Thruway section of Interstate 95. That segment of highway consists of Interstate 95 between the Hutchinson River Parkway & Bruckner Expressway interchange northward to the Connecticut state line. Although the stretch is maintained by funds derived from tolls, only the stretch between Exits 16 and 17 in New Rochelle is tolled. Exit 17 quickly departs Interstate 95 northbound beyond the New England Thruway toll plaza for Jefferson Street and Chatsworth and Madison Avenues. Chatsworth Avenue stems northwest from downtown Larchmont to Rockingstone Avenue and Forest Avenues in unincorporated Westchester County. 08/29/05

Interstate 95 enters the city of Mamaroneck at the Rockland Avenue over crossing. Leaving the freeway ahead is Exit 18A onto Fenimore Road. Fenimore Road links U.S. 1 (Boston Post Road) in Mamaroneck with Griffin Avenue and NY 125 (Weaver Street) at Scarsdale. 08/29/05
Exit 18A descends to Fenimore Road from Interstate 95 (New England Thruway) northbound. Fenimore Road intersects U.S. 1 (Boston Post Road) in 0.75 miles at Harbor Island Park. 08/29/05
Mamaroneck Avenue intersects Interstate 95 in the form of two interchanges at Exit 18B. A loop ramp enters I-95 northbound from a southbound access road at Saxon Woods Park. A northbound off-ramp connects Interstate 95 north with Mamaroneck Avenue north for Harrison and White Plains to the east of there. Mamaroneck Avenue comprises a main north-south arterial between Mamaroneck and downtown White Plains. 08/29/05

Interstate 95 continues northeast toward the Exit 19 trumpet interchange with Playland Parkway at Rye. Playland Parkway constitutes an east-west roadway between New England Thruway and the Playland amusement park. 08/29/05
A long off-ramp departs Interstate 95 northbound for Playland Parkway east at Exit 19. Playland Parkway passes over Theodore Fremd Ave ahead of U.S. 1 (Boston Post Road) within the next half mile. A folded diamond interchange links the parkway with Old post Road and Theodore Fremd Avenue west to Harrison, and in conjunction with North Street, north to Harrison. 08/29/05
U.S. 1 (Boston Post Road) crosses paths with Interstate 95 (New England Thruway) again near the Rye and Port Chester city line adjacent to the Interstate 287 eastern terminus. Exit 20 consists of a single off-ramp to U.S. 1 near its intersection with NY 120 (Purchase Street) at downtown Rye. Exit 21 provides a bypass route for U.S. 1 north to Port Chester. 08/29/05

One half mile south of the Interstate 287 (Cross-Westchester Expressway) westbound beginning at Exit 21 on Interstate 95 north at the Central Avenue overpass. The Cross-Westchester Expressway is maintained by the New York Thruway authority though no tolls are collected on it. The freeway ventures through Harrison, White Plains, and Elmsford across Westchester County. Interstate 287 merges with Interstate 87 on the New York Thruway mainline to span the Hudson River between Tarrytown and Nyack via the Tappan Zee Bridge. 08/29/05
Exit 20 departs Interstate 95 northbound onto U.S. 1 (Boston Post Road) south for downtown Rye and NY 120 (Purchase Street). 08/29/05
The close proximity of U.S. 1 to the Interstate 95 & 287 interchange allows for northbound connections to the Boston Post Road to be made by Interstate 287 west (Exit 12). U.S. 1 continues north from I-287 into downtown Port Chester via Main Street. Interstate 287 (Cross-West Chester Expressway) otherwise entails the northern bypass route of the New York city metropolitan area between Connecticut and Northern New Jersey. 08/29/05
Interstate 287 westbound traffic departs Interstate 95 north for the Tappan Zee Bridge, Suffern, and Albany (via Interstate 87 north). The loop ramp onto the Cross-Westchester Expressway splits with the U.S. 1 northbound ramp nearby. Exit 22 and U.S. 1 (Boston Post Road) both serve downtown Port Chester. 08/29/05
