Maryland Route 22 travels 5.6 miles east from Bel Air to Churchville, and southward from there 7.4 miles to Aberdeen and an entrance to the Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG). MD 22 along the Aberdeen Throughway, from Interstate 95 to APG, is a controlled access arterial with a grade separated intersection with U.S. 40 (Pulaski Highway).

MD 22 (Aberdeen Throughway) continues north from U.S. 40 (Pulaski Highway) to a signalized intersection with Mt. Royal Avenue in Aberdeen. Mt. Royal Avenue connects the state route with MD 132 (Bel Air Avenue). 06/30/10
