Virginia Route 233 serves as the main connection to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), located between George Washington Memorial Parkway and the Potomac River near Crystal City. Traveling 0.36 miles, SR 233 angles southeast from U.S. 1 (Richmond Highway) along the Airport Access Road to Smith Boulevard and the mainline terminals of the airport. Abingdon Drive meets the state route following the grade separated crossing of GW Parkway. A loop ramp joins eastbound from the GW Parkway south while a ramp along westbound SR 233 connects with Crystal Drive north into Crystal City.
