Alabama Route 287 travels along the northernmost leg of Gulf Shores Parkway from SR 59 (McMeans Avenue) at Bay Minette to Interstate 65 at Baldwin County Road 47 (Rabun Road). The Parkway was expanded to five lanes by Summer of 2001 to accommodate beach bound traffic and hurricane evacuation situations. South of SR 59, SR 287 turns southeasterly along Hand Avenue to end at Courthouse Square in Downtown Bay Minette, the county seat of Baldwin County.
