State Route 17 Connector - Bloomingdale

SR 17CO was designated in 2020 along the former southern extent of SR 17 between U.S. 80/SR 26 in the city of Bloomingdale to Interstate 16 at Exit 152. SR 17CO initially follows Bloomingdale Road along the previous route of SR 17 north 1.41 miles from the exchange with I-16. Replacing the route along Bloomingdale Road and Cherry Street north to U.S. 80/SR 26, the remainder of SR 17CO will take the Jimmy DeLoach Parkway Extension.

The Jimmy DeLoach Parkway Extension was a 2.73 mile long project running south from the parkway at U.S. 80/SR 17-26 to SR 17CO along Bloomingdale Road. The controlled access highway finally opened at the end of August 2022, following delays from October 2021, then May 2022.¹

Little Neck Road - North

Little Neck Road parallels the Little Ogeechee River northwest from George Town to I-16/SR 17CO in Bloomingdale. 09/25/22

Construction in 2021/22 converted the diamond interchange joining Little Neck Road with Interstate 16 at the south end of SR 17CO (Jimmy DeLoach Parkway) to a dumbbell interchange. 09/25/22

An intrastate route originating in Macon, Interstate 16 spurs east from I-95 and Pooler into Savannah. 09/25/22

North

SR 17CO commences north along Jimmy DeLoach Parkway Extension from Little Neck Road toward the Bloomingdale city center. 09/25/22

Interstate 16 travels west between Pembroke and Statesboro to Dublin and Macon. 09/25/22

SR 17CO (Jimmy DeLoach Parkway Extension) expands to a four lane highway north from the exchange with Interstate 16. 09/25/22

Jimmy DeLoach Parkway continues north from Bloomingdale Road along a limited access stretch to U.S. 80/SR 17-26 (Louisville Road). 09/25/22

SR 17CO spans a Georgia Central Railroad line a half mile ahead of the diamond interchange with U.S. 80/SR 26 (Louisville Road) and SR 17. 09/25/22

U.S. 80/SR 26 (Louisville Road) head east across Bloomingdale to the Pooler city center en route to Garden City. SR 17 overlaps with the two routes west 2.03 miles into Effingham County. 09/25/22

SR 17 overtakes Jimmy DeLoach Parkway northeast to SR 21AL in Port Wentworth. SR 17 northbound travels to Pineora and Guyton en route to Millen. 09/25/22

South

SR 17CO (Jimmy DeLoach Parkway) extends south from the diamond interchange joining SR 17 with U.S. 80/SR 26 (Louisville Road) in Bloomingdale to a grade separation with the Georgia Central Railroad. 09/25/22
