The state route runs 18.94 miles west from SR 210 at Little Cottonwood Canyon to Bingham Canyon Mine (Kennecott Copper Mine), the deepest open pit mine in the world. The city of West Jordan was home to 116,961 as of 2020 Census and was incorporated in 1947.
