Northbound I-29 follows the I-80 Local roadway west across Council Bluffs. Prior to the Council Bluffs Interstate System Improvement Program, I-29/80 combined west from ahead of Exit 3 to S Expressway Street to just ahead of the Missouri River Bridge. 05/08/22
S Expressway Street runs north to the couplet of S 6th/7th Streets in Downtown Council Bluffs and south to U.S. 275/MSR 92. 05/08/22
S Expressway was formerly part of Iowa 192 between I-29/80 and old U.S. 6 (Kanesville Bouleard) in Council Bluffs. The state highway was decommissioned in 2018. 05/08/22
