Business Loop I-94 through Battle Creek constitutes a 13.95 mile1 route between Exits 92 and and 104 in Calhoun County. The route angles northeast from I-94 along Columbia Avenue to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive west of W. K. Kellogg Airport (BTL). This portion of the route doubles as M-37.

Dickman Road continues the Business Loop east alongside M-37 and M-96 to Helmer Road, where the two trunkline highways turn southward. Dickman Road and BL I-94 remain east to Main Street in Battle Creek. A zigzag alignment takes the route north along Main Street to Hamblin Street, which directs the route onto Michigan Avenue east. Michigan Avenue returns Business Loop I-94 to I-94, with M-96 joining the route east from Columbia Avenue.

Business Loop I-94 was established in 1960 over the former routing of U.S. 12 Business, which was dropped in anticipation of relocating U.S. 12 away from I-94 onto U.S. 112 to the south. The loop was relocated from a route along Columbia Avenue east from Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive (former Skyline Drive) to Capital Avenue north to Dickman Road in 1964.1 Ramps between Michigan Avenue (M-96) east and I-94 east and from I-94 west onto M-96 were removed after 2008. The folded-diamond interchange with 11 Mile Road serves as the east end of the business route now.
