Interstate 295 along the West Beltway represents the original 35.5 miles of the route around the Jacksonville metropolitan area. The West Beltway connects I-95 at Turtle Creek with I-10 at Commonwealth and U.S. 17 at Orange Park.

Traveling west from Interstate 95, I-295 advances to the south end of SR 243 International Airport Boulevard at Exit 33. Providing access to Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), Exit 33 was a later addition to the West Beltway. 12/31/17
