Massachusetts Route 136 extends Rhode Island Route 136 northward 1.73 miles along Market Street, James Reynolds Road and Kingsley Way to Davis Street within the town of Swansea. Signage for Route 136 ends from the south at the parclo A2 interchange (Exit 2) with Interstate 195.

A short distance north of U.S. 6 (Fall River Avenue) along Route 136 is the parclo A2 interchange with Interstate 195 (Exit 2). I-195 constitutes a freeway spur east from Interstate 95 at Providence, Rhode Island to Fall River, New Bedford and Wareham, Massachusetts. 07/28/07
Erroneous circle shields were posted along Route 136 in both directions between Interstate 195 and the Rhode Island state line. This assembly was replaced with a Junction I-195 shield by 2014. 07/28/07
A loop ramp joins Interstate 195 east to Fall River. Route 136 extends another half mile to a rural end at Davis Street. 07/28/07
Route 136 South
Route 136 follows James Reynolds Road south from Interstate 195 (Exit 2) initially as a four lane arterial. Pictured here are older style guide signs, replaced by 2014, for the state route and nearby U.S. 6. 06/27/05
U.S. 6 and Route 136 (James Reynolds Road / Market Street) cross paths just south of Interstate 195. U.S. 6 travels west to Seekonk and Providence, Rhode Island and east to Somerset and Fall River. 06/27/05
Mast-arm supported traffic lights govern the movements between U.S. 6 (Grand Army of the Republic Highway) and Route 136 at North Swansea. U.S. 6 travels four miles northwest to Seekonk and five miles east to the Swansea town center.

Market Street narrows to two lanes at the crossing into Warren, Rhode Island. Route 136 continues south to Bristol and a merge with Route 114 north of the Mount Hope Bay Bridge. RI 114 continues the trek south to Newport. 06/27/05
