PA 179 branches 1.3 miles east from U.S. 202 (Lower York Road) in Solebury township to the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge crossing the Delaware River. PA 179 along Bridge Street in New Hope represents the western segment of an 8.8 mile long highway with New Jersey Route 179 to Ringoes. MSR 179 represents the pre-freeway alignment of U.S. 202.
