California 230 was an unconstructed freeway alignment that would provide access from U.S. 101 and Interstate 280 to the often-proposed but never constructed Southern Crossing. The Southern Crossing was a bridge planned to cross San Francisco Bay to relieve traffic on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge (I-80) to the north and the San Mateo Bridge (Calilfornia 92) to the south.
