Tower Bridge Gateway transitions into an at-grade boulevard with a 35 mile per hour speed limit beyond the on-ramp from Jefferson Boulevard (SR 84). 09/05/10
A turn off for Ironworks Avenue follows into a residential development on the south side of the Gateway. 09/05/10
The signalized intersection with Grand Street north and Delta Lane south replaced a trumpet interchange with Riske Lane. Grand Street links Tower Bridge Gateway with West Capitol Avenue (old U.S. 40-99W). West Capitol Avenue was formerly U.S. 40 Business from the late 1950s through the mid-1960s and as Business Spur I-80 before the business loop freeway was defined in 1980. 09/05/10
Landscaping improvements were made to the median of Tower Bridge Gateway leading east from Grand Street. This replaced Caltrans-standard oleander bushes with turf and trees. 03/13/15
The West Gateway Place development was constructed at the southeast corner of Tower Bridge Gateway and Grand Street in 2016. Garden Street was renamed to Grand Street in 2016 as well. 03/13/15
Tower Bridge Gateway arcs east below a railroad spur to intersect 5th Street at the succeeding traffic light next to Raley Field. 03/13/15
5th Street was extended south from adjacent West Capitol Avenue to connect with River Road south of Delta Lane and the Capital City Freeway. Previously a westbound on-ramp connected with SR 275 here. 03/13/15
Tower Bridge Gateway passes just north of Raley Field and next intersects 3rd Street north and Riverfront Street south. 03/13/15
3rd Street south and Riverfront Street come together just ahead of the Tower Bridge near The Ziggurat. The intersection replaced RIRO ramps along SR 275 east with South River Road and a westbound off-ramp to West Capitol Avenue. 03/10/15

Tower Bridge Gateway approaches the Tower Bridge beyond Riverfront Street. The succeeding intersection is with Neasham Circle to Front Street and the Old Sacramento Historic District, but left turns are prohibited there. 03/13/15
The Tower Bridge Gateway ends as the state takes over maintenance for the Tower Bridge. 03/10/15
Overall the Tower Bridge is 737 feet in length and 52 feet in width. The width was designed to accommodate four dedicated lanes for autos, separated by a railroad line with curbing. The railroad component was removed.3 03/13/15
Crossing the Sacramento River, motorists leave West Sacramento and enter the city of Sacramento. The center lift segment of the Tower Bridge is 209 feet long. 03/13/15

Capitol Mall crosses the Sacramento Southern Railroad at the signalized intersection with Neasham Circle. 03/10/15

Passing below Capitol Mall, Interstate 5 and SR 99 run along the east side of the Sacramento River and west of Downtown with nine overall lanes. 03/13/15

Ramps connecting Capitol Mall with 3rd Street were closed in 2007. 3rd Street otherwise leads three blocks south to P Street, which connects to Interstate 5 and SR 99. 03/13/15
Capitol Mall previously extended east from 3rd to 4th Street with three eastbound lanes. A bike lane takes the place of the third lane now. 03/13/15

Fifth Street leads four blocks north from Capitol Mall to I Street at the ramp for Interstate 5 & SR 99 north. This dated overhead sign references SR 70, which no longer enters Sacramento County. 03/10/15

SR 275 ended at the intersection of Capitol Mall and Ninth Street, one block from the state capitol building. 03/11/15
