Indiana State Road 37 north
Now in Hamilton County (population 274,569) north of Indianapolis, SR 37 along the collector distributor ramp that facilitates movement between Interstate 69 and 116th Street in Fishers (population 76,794). Fishers is the fastest growing town in Indiana and is in general part of the rapidly developing northern suburbs of Indianapolis. As of the 2010 Census, Fishers is the 9th largest community in the state. The sign bridge directs traffic either back onto Interstate 69 toward Fort Wayne, or along SR 37 to Noblesville. 08/16/09
A mile north of the interchange, SR 37 is a four lane expressway that goes through the northern fringes of Fishers. The highway is lined with retail and industrial complexes along its route most of the way to Noblesville. Traffic can be heavy along SR 37 through this stretch during rush hour. 08/16/09
As SR 37 passes 141st Street it enters Noblesville (population 51,969,) the county seat of Hamilton County. As with Fishers, Noblesville is another rapidly growing community in the state, and as of the 2010 Census, the city is the 14th largest in the state. 08/16/09
SR 37 makes its way around the eastern side of Noblesville. What was once a rural stretch of expressway around the city has now become a commercialized part of Noblesville. 08/16/09
SR 37 approaches the intersection of SR 32/SR 38, known locally as Conner Street. SR 32 is a 157 mile highway that stretches from the Illinois state line to the Ohio state line, going through the communities of Crawfordsville, Lebanon, and Westfield to the west and Anderson, Muncie, and Winchester to the east. SR 38 is a 116 mile highway that begins in Lafayette and goes through Frankfort, Sheridan, Noblesville, and New Castle before ending in Richmond. Both highways are multiplexed for the stretch of highway through Noblesville. 08/16/09
SR 37 north of the SR 32/SR 38 intersection remains four lanes as it passes by the northern part of Noblesville. The highway loses a good amount of its traffic through the heart of Noblesville, but commuter traffic to rural Hamilton County remains. 08/16/09
Northeast of Noblesville, SR 37 is reduced to a two lane highway for the final time on its trip up in Indiana. 08/16/09
SR 37 is now a two lane highway that moves through rural Hamilton County, passing through the small town of Strawtown. Along the way, the highway picks up SR 13, a 138 mile highway that starts in Fortville and goes through Lapel before meeting SR 37. 08/16/09

SR 13 joins SR 37 from Atlantic Road at East 256th Street and West County Road 400 North. The state road pair continue north to East 266th Street in this scene. 08/16/09
For a few miles, SR 37 is multiplexed with SR 13 along the boundary between Hamilton County and Madison County. As the highway approaches the community of Elwood it finally turns northeast into Madison County (population 131,636). 08/16/09
Still along the county line, but within Madison County, SR 37/SR 13 approaches the intersection of SR 128. SR 128 is a short 11 mile highway that connects SR 37 with SR 9 within Madison County, serving the community of Frankton. SR 128 continues east of SR 9 as a county road before becoming SR 332, a four lane expressway that serves Muncie. 08/16/09
Now north of the SR 128 intersection, SR 37/SR 13 is now 5 miles to Elwood, with Marion at 26 miles along SR 37. 08/16/09
SR 37/SR 13 turns toward the northeast as the highway approaches the community of Elwood. 08/16/09
SR 37 reaches the point where SR 13 breaks off toward the north. This is also where the highway enters the Elwood area. Elwood (population 8,614) is the largest community along SR 37 between Noblesville and Marion. SR 13 from here moves through downtown Elwood before heading off through Wabash and Warsaw before ending at the Michigan state line. 08/16/09

North of the junction with SR 13 North, Marion is now 24 miles away. Huntington, via SR 9 (but originally SR 37) is 50 miles away. 08/16/09
SR 37 bypasses Elwood on the southeast side, with one stoplight at O Street (County Road 1100 North) at a shopping center. 08/16/09
SR 37 now approaches the intersection with SR 28. SR 28 is a 153 mile highway that stretches across the state from Illinois to Ohio. The highway goes through Attica, Frankfort, and Tipton before going through Elwood, to the east the highway goes through Alexandria and Albany before leaving at Union City. 08/16/09
North of SR 28, SR 37 is a light-traveled road that goes through rural northern Madison County on its way toward Marion, passing by the small town of Rigdon. 08/16/09

North of the State Road 26, the distance sign announces the distances to Marion (9 miles) and Huntington (35 miles). 08/16/09
SR 37 approaches the intersection with U.S. 35/SR 22. U.S. 35 is a 210 mile highway from Michigan City to the northwest to Richmond to the southeast. SR 22 is a 50 mile highway from Burlington to Upland. 08/16/09
SR 37 at the intersection with U.S. 35/SR 22. U.S. 35/SR 22 goes through Kokomo to the west and Jonesboro and Gas City to the east. 08/16/09
North of the U.S. 35/SR 22, Marion is now 5 miles away. Fort Wayne is now listed as a control city, based on the fact that SR 37 used to go through Marion, Huntington, and Fort Wayne. Now, SR 9 and U.S. 24 are needed to get to Fort Wayne. 08/16/09
After 218 miles of winding through southern and central Indiana, SR 37 comes to an end at SR 9 on the southwest side of Marion. SR 37 at one time did go further along SR 9 and U.S. 24 to Fort Wayne, but has since been truncated. 08/16/09
