Siesta Drive (old SR 758) in Sarasota spans the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (IWW) east from Nora Patterson Bay Island Park over a bascule bridge bridge in 1972. Roberts Bay expands to the south from waterfront homes along Freeling Drive to the Edwards Islands. Sarasota Bay opens north to Golden Gate Point and central Sarasota, where SR 789 (John Ringling Causeway) spans the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway west to Bird Key. 06/11/21

State Road 758 lines Bee Ridge Road east from U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail) and Bay Road in south Sarasota to a point just beyond Interstate 75 (Exit 207) at Lake Sarasota. The urban arterial passes between the unincorporated communities of Southgate, Ridge Wood Heights, South Gate Ridge, Sarasota Springs and Bee Ridge along a 5.43 mile long course.

Florida State Road 758 Guides

Originally designated SR 789 and decommissioned as part of a mileage swap with Sarasota County for River Road (CR 777) in May 2018, the western portion of State Road 758 was a 5.77 mile long loop onto Siesta Key. SR 758 ran north along Midnight Pass Road from the former west end of SR 72 (Stickney Point Road) and CR 789 along the east side of Siesta Key. Unsigned CR 789A loops 2.45 miles west from Midnight Pass Road along Beach Road, Ocean Boulevard and Higel Avenue. SR 758 continued north along Higel Avenue to Siesta Drive in the city of Sarasota.

Siesta Drive leads east across Hanson Bayou onto Bay Island and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway on a bascule bridge. Within south Sarasota, SR 758 navigated along a dog leg on Osprey Avenue south and Bay Road east to U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail) at Bee Ridge Road.
