State Route 400 North
Interchanges are numbered sequentially along SR 400. The first northbound off-ramp (Exit 2) joins the freeway with SR 141 Connector (Buckhead Loop) at North Buckhead in one mile. 08/22/03
A Metropolitan Atlanta Regional Transit Authority (MARTA) line runs between the travel lanes of SR 400 to Lenox. High rises from the North Buckhead business district appear beyond Lenox Square Mall in the foreground. 08/22/03
SR 400 drops below grade as the MARTA Northeast-East Line veers away from the North Line toward Chamblee and Doraville. The North Line remains within the SR 400 right of way to Johnson Ferry Park. 08/22/03
SR 400 north approaches the tunnel below Atlanta Financial Center, which was already built by the time of construction was underway on the original toll road. 08/22/03
Forthcoming SR 141 Connector (Lenox Road) was built in conjunction with SR 400 to serve area businesses and offices. The six lane arterial leads motorists to SR 141 (Peachtree Road NE) at Lenox Square Mall to the east. 08/22/03
Emerging from the 600 foot long tunnel below the Atlanta Financial Center, drivers reach Exit 2 for SR 141 Connector (Lenox Road) for Buckhead. SR 141 Conn constitutes a 0.9 mile arc, ending just west of SR 400 at SR 237 (Piedmont Road NE) by the Buckhead Forest neighborhood. 08/22/03
A series of concrete braces extend over the SR 400 mainline within the single point urban interchange (SPUI) with SR 141 Connector. 08/22/03
Advancing through North Buckhead, SR 400 passes below Wieuca Road in this scene. A number of noise barriers were erected to offset impacts to adjacent neighborhoods. 08/22/03
SR 400 leaves the city limits of Atlanta at Nancy Creek to enter the city of Sandy Springs. The six lane freeway progresses north from there to pass under Windsor Parkway, one mile ahead of the directional cloverleaf interchange (Exits 4A/B) with Interstate 285. 08/22/03
A fourth northbound lane forms along SR 400 north ahead of the Northland Drive overpass in anticipation of a collector distributor roadway for both the Glenridge Connector (Exit 3) and Interstate 285 (Exits 4A/B). 08/22/03
The c/d roadway branches away from the freeway mainline with two lanes. A folded diamond interchange lies ahead with Glenridge Connector, a divided boulevard looping west from Peachtree Dunwoody Road to Johnson Ferry Road and Glenridge Drive to the immediate west. 08/22/03
A left side ramp brings U.S. 19 north onto SR 400 north as Exit 4A leaves from the right. A loop ramp departs next for the Perimeter Highway west to Marietta and Smyrna. 08/22/03
Exit 4B connects SR 400 north with I-285 west & U.S. 19 south to Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. I-285 encircles Atlanta along a 64 mile loop. 08/22/03
U.S. 19 State Route 400 North
Northridge Road crosses paths with U.S. 19/SR 400 in north Sandy Springs at Exit 6. The four lane boulevard connects the freeway with SR 9 (Roswell Road) to the west and Roberts Drive to the east. 08/27/04
